Civik welcomes Simon Holloway as new CEO

Civik is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Holloway as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Simon brings extensive industry experience in civil infrastructure and a strong commitment to Civik’s mission to create meaningful employment pathways for young people facing barriers to work.

His appointment comes as Chris Fortnam concludes his secondment from Ventia as CEO, after leading Civik through a year of transformational growth — including relocating Queensland operations to Townsville, overseeing the merger with YEA, and laying the foundations for Civik’s expansion into Melbourne.

“It’s been a real privilege to lead Civik through this chapter,” Chris said.

“The team has achieved so much in a short time, and Simon is absolutely the right person to carry that work forward. I’m confident Civik’s best years are ahead.”

Simon said he was excited to be joining Civik at such a pivotal time.

“The work the team has done to expand impact while maintaining a people-first culture is impressive, and I look forward to building on that momentum — especially as we grow operations across Queensland and into Victoria,” he said.

Civik is a purpose-driven infrastructure services provider, delivering hydro excavation, underground service locating, and directional drilling services — while creating jobs and training opportunities for young people who need a pathway into the workforce.

Simon’s leadership marks a new chapter for Civik, with a focus on deepening operational excellence, expanding partnerships, and continuing to demonstrate the value of social enterprise in the infrastructure sector.
